Transport security
The Transport World is a government law enforcement agency that was created as part of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act passed by the agency is responsible for security in all modes of transportation.
Transportation Security Administration formed immediately following the tragedies of Sept. 11. The agency is a component of the Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for security of the nation's transportation systems.
With their state, local and regional partners, they oversee security for the highways, railroads, buses, mass transit systems, ports and the 450 airports. They employ approximately 50,000 people from Alaska to Puerto Rico to ensure your travels – by plane, train, automobile or ferry – are safe and secure now.
The main aim of the Transport World is to protect the travelling public, transport facilities and those employed in the transport industries primarily from acts of terrorism and to retain public confidence in transport security, whilst not imposing requirements that impact disproportionately on the travelling public or on the effectiveness and efficiency of industry operations.
